Reuter is one of St. Louis' greatest songwriters
. . ."
The Suberranean
"Singer and songwriter Bob Reuter has a tremendous range of material."
Steve Pick
"(Kamikaze Cowboy is) clearly a band worth seeing, and seeing often."
St. Louis Post-Dispatch
"What Bob Dylan might have sounded like if he grew up in Maplewood."
The Subterranean
"Man, them guys were good!"
Townes
Van Zandt
"People make music for any number of reasons: for external validation,
for ego petting, for money, for fame. It seems obvious from listening
to "Hurry Sundown that Bob Reuter plays music because it's buried deep
inside his soul. And that's the purest reason of all."

"Bob Reuter was a key figure in laying the foundations
for the current generation of St. Louis alternative country. As a solo or
with Kamikaze Cowboy, he has been putting down solid country/roots
rock since the late 1970's. In the early 1990's Reuter labored in relative
obscurity, recording several self released cassettes but in 1995 and 1996
came successive cds, Bob Reuter - "This Much I Know" and Kamikaze Cowboy
- "Hurry Sundown", that brought him greater recognition. In the wake of
the current alt country resurgence, Reuter is being "rediscovered" and given
his due as musician and pathbreaker. Sadly, just as his star began to rise
he was hit with medical problems which prevented him from recording or performing
for almost a year but by early in 1998 he was back in action."
- David Goodman / Modern Twang, an Alternative Country Music Guide and
Directory
"Kamikaze Cowboy is Bob Reuter's band, one of the hardest driving and
most talented combos in town, let alone in the alternative country style.
And Reuter's songs are really quite remarkable. When they're on they're
very, very good!"
- Roy Kasten
"For years, St. Louis critics have written about Bob Reuter's songs. They've
noted the songs wisdom and detail, their psychological complexity and
their graceful melodies. In short they've observed just how real Bob Reuter's
songs are. Reuter's band, Kamikaze Cowboy, has become a crackling outfit
and a worthy agent for the song-writer, hell-hot and able to fuse country
and rock with an authority that only the Bottlerockets can match locally."
